1908-1959.

Records kept by the head farmer, steward and/or superintendent. They include reports of monthly farm products deliveries to the steward (1908-1933), monthly register of reports (1911-1958), annual farm inventory classification (1916-1939), milk production record (1933-1935), correspondence (1911-1959), farm feed reports (1944-1953), and herd records (1925-1940). The correspondence is mainly between the steward and/or head farmer and the State Board of Control, concerning general operation of the farm. Specific topics covered include the firing of the head farmer for misappropriation of supplies (1930s), management of the dairy herd (1940s), membership in the Holstein-Friesian Association, and closure and sale of the farm (1950s). The various reports and records provide information on products produced on the sanatorium farm and either used on site or sold, including milk, eggs, vegetables, mutton, pork, veal, beef, and wood; and materials purchased by the farm, including feed, harness, blacksmith supplies, tools and implements, and citizen and inmate labor.
